Experience the excitement of a live runway show in a remarkable art space. Back after sold-out shows in 2023 and 2019, AMP’s Recycled Runway brings together designers of all ages and abilities to showcase wearable art made from materials that would otherwise be discarded. This year, the runway spotlight will be on designers' sheer creativity—and how sustainability can inspire extraordinary artistic breakthroughs.

The Runway at the Mural: Two Art Forms, One Incredible Evening

Models will take to the runway alongside AMP's remarkable 120-foot-long indoor Art of Work mural that celebrates the stories of workers—and the power of working together. This unique pairing highlights the art of fashion design and clothes-making while raising awareness about sustainability in the fashion industry. All event proceeds benefit the American Mural Project’s hands-on education programs for kids and teens.

Thursday, May 15th, at 6:30 PM, 2nd Home welcomes the fantastic Dave Robbins & Ryan Newman Blues Machine as a new addition to our Thursday Jazz/Blue series. You may have already seen Dave here with Orb Mellon, and is so you know he is a killer harmonica player. This time he is joined by guitar virtuoso sensation Ryan Newman. Ryan received the first ever New England Music Hall of Fame Best New Artist Award. Ryan Newman plays with the Kosher Kid Dave Robbins and the Amplifiers, Righteous Continental, and Justin Chan and the Vices. We are thrilled to add them to our lineup, and hope you will come down and check them out on what we know will be an evening of great blues music.

On Friday, May 16th, at 7:00 2nd Home welcomes back Tom Turci (https://tomturci.com/). Tom is a guitarist, singer and songsmith from central Connecticut whose musical roots stem from bluegrass, blues, folk, rock and country. Tom says his original music echoes sounds from the 70's and earlier. Fingerstyle guitar, downhome strumming, harmonicas singing and a voice all his own to give it life. Great music, drinks, food, and fun!

Fourth Fridays

Each month, the Happy Hour Piano Series offers an eclectic mix of musical genres, showcasing the region’s wealth of talented pianists. Held on the fourth Fridays, from 5 to 7 pm, the piano series extends AMP’s exhibit hours. A cash/credit bar offers wine, craft and domestic beer, and assorted beverages.

Jennifer Hill is a singer-songwriter and pianist whose music blends the soulful influences of Carole King, Aretha Franklin, and Janis Joplin with the modern edge of artists like Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga. Jennifer’s latest solo album, Love Bomb, is a vibrant mix of retro soul and pop produced by the legendary Vic Steffens. Beyond her solo work, Jennifer is the creative force behind the electro-pop act Murderous Chanteuse and the indie rock band Jennifer Hill and Co., both available on streaming platforms. In addition, Jennifer is the founder of SWAN Day CT, the annual Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) event that showcases women in the arts, and has shared the stage with June Millington of the legendary 1970s band Fanny.
