Join Mrs. Tricia for a classic library storytime - books, songs, bubbles, and more! Come for early literary skills, social connections, and fun! We will focus on one special picture book author each week.

Join us for a special screening of A Complete Unknown, the acclaimed 2024 biographical drama about legendary musician Bob Dylan's transformative early years.

Directed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown chronicles the journey of a 19-year-old Bob Dylan (portrayed by Timothée Chalamet) as he arrives in New York City in 1961. Determined to meet his idol, the ailing folk singer Woody Guthrie (Scoot McNairy), Dylan quickly immerses himself in the vibrant Greenwich Village music scene. Under the mentorship of figures like Pete Seeger (Edward Norton) and alongside contemporaries such as Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro), Dylan's meteoric rise challenges traditional folk norms, culminating in his controversial electric performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. ​

A Complete Unknown has garnered critical acclaim, earning eight nominations at the 97th Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Chalamet. The film is celebrated for its authentic portrayal of Dylan's early career and the cultural shifts of the 1960s. ​

Your imagination's the limit at our Invention Convention! Stop by the library on May 16th from 3:30 - 5:00 and use any of our available materials to create your own vehicle, toy, game, instrument, sport, robot -- you name it! Inventions will be on display at the library for the rest of May.

Learn dance fundamentals and the basic steps plus even more for several of the most popular Ballroom Dances. Each of the 3 evenings we will choose from among these – BACHATA, CHA CHA-SALSA, HUSTLE, JITTERBUG SWING, MERENGUE, WALTZ and WEST COAST SWING. We have instruction sheets to help you remember what you learn and a possible “field trip” to get some real world experience.

ALL AGES welcome and NO partner or previous dance experience necessary. Have fun dancing to impress at your next dance party !

Instructor: Jim Zaccaria has taught dance since 1985. He helped found the Philadelphia Swing Dance Society and Swing On ! to teach new dancers the joys of boogieing to the beat !

This three - week session begins on Friday, May 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and meets at Community Hall at the Morris Town Hall.

Please CARRY IN smooth soled shoes for our lessons (Shoes that would allow you to pivot on the ball of your foot.). And wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move (and dance!) in.

Plant lovers and garden gurus are invited to The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens annual Gardenpalooza plant sale on Saturday, May 17 from 10 am to 1 pm featuring a variety of perennials, annuals, flowers, vegetable and herb plants available for purchase from Meadowbrook Gardens. Saturday Storytime is BACK! Come to OWL for an all ages storytime in the children's room every Saturday at 10:30 then stay to play. In addition to our puppet theater, wooden blocks, and train set, and dollhouse! Meet us in the Children’s Room for Baby Time! This calm, cozy program is designed for pre-walkers who aren't quite ready for the high energy of Rhyme Time. We will focus on nursery rhymes, lullabies, and bonding with your baby.

The Gunn Museum and Makerspace present a series of craft workshops inspired by artifacts from the Museum’s collections.

May’s workshop focuses on basket weaving! See examples of different baskets from the Museum’s collection and make one to bring home.

In celebration of National Scavenger Hunt Day on May 24th, the David M. Hunt Library will be throwing a Super-Sized Scavenger Hunt. Use the riddles to find all the clues in and around the library grounds. Happy searching!
