Join us as we explore blacksmithing techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop at the Eric Sloane Museum. Have you ever wondered how hand forged metal objects are created? This hands-on class will be taught by blacksmithing expert, Ian McCarthy. Based on the beloved animated film, "Shrek the Musical" follows the journey of a cynical ogre who reluctantly embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona for the villainous Lord Farquaad in exchange for reclaiming his swamp, which has been overrun by fairy tale creatures. Along the way, Shrek befriends a talkative Donkey and discovers that true beauty comes from within, as he and Fiona gradually fall in love. With clever humor, heartwarming songs, and a message of self-acceptance, the musical transforms the original story into a vibrant stage production that celebrates individuality, friendship, and the idea that everyone deserves to be appreciated for who they truly are.

Ceramic Wheel Throwing and Surface Techniques
Come check out the Torrington Recreations 2025 Summer Concert Series at Coe Park! Over the course of 14 weeks, every Thursday, starting June 5th and running through September 4th, we will be hosting 14 different bands who will perform a range of different genres. Concerts will be held on the outside portico at the Coe Memorial Park (101 Litchfield Road) from 6pm-8pm. Bring your blankets, chairs, food and drinks to enjoy our concerts in the park!
Cover2Cover is a band whose repertoire includes an eclectic collection of tunes to suit all audiences. From songs such as 'Vehicle' by The Ides Of March to the Latin rhythms of Santana's 'Evil Ways', Cover2 Cover will keep you up and dancing.
