The Merryall Center in New Milford, CT is now accepting submissions for Expressing Motherhood (Connecticut).
Expressing Motherhood is a stage show of personal stories, songs, and skits all about the journey of motherhood. Since 2008, moms have been sharing their stories at Expressing Motherhood performances across the country. Submissions from moms, dads, grandparents, and reflections about mothers are all welcome.
The show is built for the non-famous, non-published, and people who want to get out and express themselves. The average cast consists of ten people. Performers submit in advance and are chosen based on the power of their stories.

Through that experience, she is hoping to bring some guidance and relief to those pursuing family court battles on their own. Children will explore with paint, oil pastels, clay and other medium to create their own masterpieces. They will complete and take home a different art project each week!
Requirements:

Crafty Art for Kids
This class will give students the fun of playing the guitar, and with Musical Associates’ methods, a beginner learns how to play a tune in the very first lesson! Students will have the opportunity to perform for each other and for their parents in a recital at the end of the year.
All genres of music will be included as part of the program so that students get a well-rounded artistic experience. The music club will pick up where school music programs leave off, a chance for students to get that extra attention and increased opportunity to perform.
Instruments: K-2 children will need a half sized (30”-34”), nylon-strung acoustic guitar for the program, such as this:

Older children may need a three-quarter sized (36”-39”) nylon-strung acoustic guitar for the program such as this one: Pyle Beginner Acoustic Guitar

Teddy Bear Festival (WCGNM's 28th Annual)
Our annual Summer Great Works Concert will feature two of Mozart's most iconic choral works: his beloved Requiem and the lesser known Coronation Mass. The concert will take place on Sunday, June 8th, 2025, at 3 pm at St. John's Church in New Milford, CT.
The concert will be conducted by music director James Knox Sutterfield and will feature professional soloists and orchestra.
Parking is available on the street, behind the church, and at the public library across Whittlesey Avenue.
St. John’s in New Milford is wheelchair accessible at the side entrance on Whittlesey Ave. Accessible bathrooms are available on the same floor as the sanctuary.

The Town Wide Tag Sale is Saturday, June 14th from 8AM - 12PM.
There will be tables set up at John Pettibone Community Center, 2 Pickett District Rd in addition to those having tag sales at their home!

Vendors can begin setting up at 7 AM.
All houses registered will be added to our town-wide tag sale map.
All interested participants must register by June 12th to be included on the map.

We will identify some of the birds that live in our area, and discuss how to help them by providing the plants they depend on. The New Milford Commission on the Arts hosts the third annual Arts Festival on the Green. It features over fifty fine artists and some artisans who exhibit their work from tents on the New Milford Green. Local dance, theatre, and music groups perform under a big tent near the bandstand. The event is free and runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The New Milford Commission on the Arts invites artists to submit their work for its third annual Arts Festival on the Green, taking place on June 28, 2025.
The Arts Festival is a juried fine art and artisan show that also features performances by local students, as well as dance, theater, and music groups.
Artists may submit up to five images. Registration deadline is May 31, 2025.

He's played with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka, Judy Collins, and hundreds more.
